"I’ve worked at many places before, but at IICT, I feel like I’ve come home. I feel like I belong here – I’m with my people."

Originally from Sydney, Jet has called Byron Bay home since 2011. Passionate about psychotherapy, inner work and personal growth, Jet has an insatiable quest for knowledge and growth. She is currently studying at The Institute of Body Psychotherapy and has always shared a special connection with animals, working in animal naturopathy and communication.

How do your values align with the IICT mission and values?

I’m a strong believer that work should be fun. That’s something we do well here at IICT – we incorporate a lot of play and fun into our workday, which makes the team more productive and happier. I’ve worked at many places before but, at IICT, I feel like I’ve come home. I feel like I belong here – I’m with my people.

What inspired you to enter the complementary therapy field?

I’ve always been interested in personal growth. I’m constantly looking for the next thing, always growing and learning. Moving from a makeup artist towards a complementary therapist has come about naturally.

What do you do at IICT?

I work in the Member Services team and provide customer service to all our members.

Why do you work for IICT?

I eat and breathe complementary therapies! So naturally, IICT is an amazing way for me to learn more about different modalities, areas of spirituality and therapies. I also love helping other fellow therapists with the mundane stuff like setting up their businesses for success, obtaining insurance and getting the most out of their membership.

What motivates you to help IICT members thrive?

For me, helping people comes quite naturally. I’m chatty and bubbly and love to solve problems so when our members call with an issue, whatever it may be, I enjoy helping them resolve it. Setting up a natural therapy business and all that comes with it can be hard. If you’re not super tech-savvy or business-savvy, it can be really difficult to find your feet, so I love to help our members where I can.

Can you offer any valuable advice or tips to members?

In the IICT Member Portal, we have some amazing business tools and strategies. I recommend our members log in, utilise and explore the many tips and tools we share for building and growing a natural therapy business.

What do you do to manage your stress levels?

A lot of self-care. Self-care is really important to me, and it happens in multiple ways depending on where I’m at or what I need at the time. I love beach walks, yoga, getting a massage, eating well and therapy. I go to therapy once a fortnight and, because of it, I feel like I’ve got lots of tools to call upon when I’m feeling out of balance.

What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work?

I love to play team sports such as softball and roller derby. I also write poetry, enjoy gardening, yoga, Pilates, camping and listening to audiobooks.

What would you say to your younger self?

Keep showing up Jet and keep doing the work.
