With Venus and Mercury both turning retrograde in Scorpio, this month invites you to slow down, look honestly at your relationships and values and make peace with whatever resurfaces from the past.

Here's what's happening and how to work with it.

**October 3 — Venus Retrograde in Scorpio**

Venus begins her retrograde in Scorpio on October 3. Across successive cycles, the points where Venus turns retrograde form a five-pointed star around the zodiac. In Scorpio, this cycle asks you to reassess your relationships, values and self-worth. Since Scorpio's mythology is connected to the underworld, themes of control, secrets and trust may arise.

**October 11 — New Moon in Libra (17° Libra)**

October's Libra new moon highlights the balance in your relationships. In love, you may be holding romance up against reality, or asking whether a meeting of minds comes with the chemistry to match. With friends and family, you'll notice whether the effort flows both ways.

**October 24 — Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio**

Mercury rules technology and communication, so back up your devices and be clear in important messages and negotiations before the 24th. In Scorpio, this retrograde can bring up power struggles, manipulation and jealousy. The upside is a chance to understand why a past relationship unfolded the way it did. That understanding may help you let go for your own peace of mind.

**October 26 — Full Moon in Taurus (2° Taurus)**

Venus, this full moon's planetary ruler, will be retrograde from October 3. So you may have been reconsidering what you value, from the people you love to how you spend your time and money. Under this full moon, you'll find your answers and realise exactly what needs to change.

The Return of Unfinished Business

On the world stage, old scandals may reappear, and former agreements could be renegotiated. In your own life, familiar faces may return, along with unanswered questions. My rule with retrogrades is to let the past come to you, then decide what deserves a second chance.
